Sustainability at the forefront
Our Spruce bags are a sustainable polybag option for garment factories and brands. This is a great alternative to the traditional polybag made from polyethylene.
Spruce cellulose bag
What is it?
The plastic-free garment bag, made with tree cellulose from PEFC forests.
Home compostable.
Available as uncoated or coated film.
Why choose cellulose?
A clear material that can be heat-sealed or have a self-adhesive strip closure.
The ease at which the bag can be disposed of for the end consumer also helps to relieve pressure on waste systems, promoting a circular economy.
Spruce glassine bag
What is it?
The Spruce bag has a classy and luxurious feel, raising your brand profile whilst sending out a message of sustainability.
As the Spruce Bag is produced from paper, it is also easily recycled, promoting a circular economy.
Why choose glassine?
It has a resealable closure and is robust enough to transport garments.
Glassine is both recyclable and durable, making it unique. Several paper bag and recyclable poly bag options exist, but few achieve both.

Frequently asked questions
Does the cellulose film have any accreditations?
The certifications available include:
- BPI Compostable
- PEFC
- TUV - home compostable
- USDA-certified biobased product
Is the cellulose bag truly plastic free?
The Cellulose polybag is plastic free, made from wood pulp cellulose. However, there is an option to have a 1mic plastic coating to either side which makes the material weather resistant. They are both industry compostable (where legislation permits) and home compostable. The coated and uncoated versions of cellulose bags are both exempt from the UK Plastic Packaging Tax.
How long does it take for the cellulose bag to decompose?
What inks do you use for printing?
We predominantly use vegetable and soy-based inks rather than chemical-based inks. This may vary, so always discuss with your point of contact.
Is the glassine paper bag strong enough?
This depends on the product that the bag is used for. Spruce glassine bags are best for lighter garments, small homeware items or accessories. Speak to your point of contact for more details on your particular product.
